Greetings from the Pomeroy’s,
We are planning a trip to America this summer. We are looking forward to seeing everyone. We haven’t been to the States as a family since November of 2005, and we haven’t been in the mid-west as a family since April of 05. We appreciate your prays as we prepare to come, and for our time in the States. We will fly in to Cincinnati on July 10th, and will spend some time in Madison, Indiana, then Indianapolis before traveling to Seattle for a couple of weeks, then back to Indiana until we fly out on August 21st.
Now for an update! This past month has been full of events! At the beginning of the month our church attended Calvary Chapel’s 9th Annual National Conference in Kiev. There were about 40+ people who were able to go, 4 people responded to God’s work in their lives and were baptized. Our Pastor Bill was one of the guest speakers along with Brian Broderson from Calvary Costa Mesa, John Chubick from Zaperozhia, Ukraine who handed the church over in the fall to the nationals and Phil Metzger who is the director of Vijta, Hungary’s Calvary Chapel Bible College. It was a blessing to have them share. God is blessing the churches here in Ukraine and missionaries are being moved on as they have completed God’s mission for them as Ukrainian pastors are being raised up. Mike Pratt who has been serving in Dnipropetrovs’k along with his wife and family after 8 years have turned the church over to a man named Vitaly and his wife Galena. The bible college we attended in Indiana had made several trips to Dnipro for our international missions’ trip. Many blessings and friendships have come from the work that has taken place in Dnipro. Please keep the Pratt’s in your prayers as they continue to seek the Lord’s leading for them and as they transition to moving back to the States. It is our vision also, to one day be able to hand the church over to a Ukrainian who is passionate about God’s word and His people.
The following weekend after we returned from the conference, Stephen had the blessing of joining Nathan Medlong and Diana (pronounced Deana) as husband and wife. They are also planning on visiting the States this summer. Click the link below to see pictures from their wedding.

The day after Nate’s wedding two of our closes friends moved back to Ireland. Shane and Katie Angland were a part of the Calvary body. The Lord used Shane to teach in-depth bible Seminars on topic such as the reliability of the scriptures, textual criticism, and the Trinity. Katie served in children’s ministry and was a major part of the kids and Vanessa’s life. It was hard to say good-bye because of the friendship that has been formed, but when the Lord moves people on it’s for His good will and pleasure.
This past Sunday after the service Stephen, Nate and others shared the different visions of the ministries that take place in the church. One of the visions is to start a School of Ministry this next fall. There are a lot of students involved in the church who are graduating this summer, and because many of them are from other cities, and still want to stay plugged into church we want to offer them a place to grow in God’s word and ministry. The Lord has really blessed the church with growing hearts for Him and His desire for us to grow in our relationship with Him.
We are trying to put to together a schedule for our time in Indiana, and Washington. We want to see as many people as we can, and share as opportunities present themselves.
* If you would like to get together send a reply to this email. Send us your phone number so we can contact you prior to our trip, or as soon as we arrive.
* If you would like to have us come share at your church or with your ministry please contact us via this email address.
* If anyone has an extra vehicle, an infant car seat, and 2 toddler car seats we would greatly appreciate it if we could borrow them for our time in Indy.
* Last but not least if anyone has any extra frequent flyer miles they would like to donate we would be very grateful as we would like to fly from Indy to Seattle to see our family.
We thank you all for your prayers and support as we continue to watch God work here in Kharkiv. We look forward to sharing with you individually and in person. Until then may God’s love and grace shine in and thru you!
In Christ,
Stephen, Vanessa and the Pomeroy kids Exodus_412@hotmaL.com
